Community Theatre

History

In the summer of 2015 I decided that I wanted to write a Broadway Musical. I read some books and then on my anniversary put a post on Facebook looking for a collaborator. Several friends replied many of whom I would love to work with, but one of them replied directly to me in Chat instead of comments. Which naturally led to a conversation and soon we were collaborating on a musical. We've shot lots of ideas back and forth until we settled on the idea of doing a Farce about Community Theatre groups/productions. The concept is still evolving, but that's where it stands currently.

Synopsis

All the drama and much ado that is involved in a small town community theatre project.

Progress

We've resolved a basic premise, decided on some basic characters, and have an extremely rough plot outline. So...like 1%.

2016 Goals

1. Solidify basic characters and have their character arcs planned out. End of January.

2. A scene by scene outline of the show. End of March.

3. 1st Draft of Book. End of May.

4. 1st Draft of Lyrics to fit with Book. End of August.

Given my lack of experience doing this type of work goals might change, but that is what I'm aiming for now. Plus I really need to speak with my collaborator about deadlines. These were just some ideas I through out to help give me time frames for motivational purposes.
