History
My wife challenged me to do NaNoWriMo 2015. It hadn't even occurred to me to do it. I had attempted it previously with little success. November just isn't a great month for me generally. Okay, she didn't challenge me, but she brought up the idea. I suggested we do it together, but sharing a single computer is hard. Especially when you need to write almost 1700 words daily.
I decided to take my wife up on the challenge. I tried to think of something to write ahead of time, but was unable to do so. November 1st came along and I was improvising furiously. This novel is what resulted. It has changed much from the initial few days and where I expected it to go. It kept changing all month. Much of it won't make it past the first revision.
Synopsis
A young boy who loves stories laments the fact that he can't have an adventure of his own. Until he suddenly finds himself thrust in the middle of one and realizes that life is nothing like a story.
Progress
50,000/60,000 words.
I actually expect the final product will be longer than 60,000 words but that is my goal for the first draft.
2015/2016 Goals
1. Finish first draft. End of December 2015
2. Create character biographies. End of March.
3. Use biographies to create a better outline for novel. End of 2016.
This one is going to go slow, because this isn't the novel I wanted to write. It's the one I wrote when I didn't have any ideas put together.
